Building Maintenance Worker: Saluda County is now accepting applications for Buildings Maintenance Worker effective.  Duties include but are not limited to: Performs preventive and responsive maintenance on county buildings; Inspects buildings to determine maintenance and repair needs; Performs scheduled maintenance on county buildings; Performs janitorial services as needed; Participates in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other building maintenance; Performs grounds maintenance duties; Completes work orders; Responds to after-hour emergencies as needed.  Reports to Public Building Superintendent.  Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education; sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.  A detailed job description is available at the County Council office, 400 W. Part-time Library Clerk: Saluda County is accepting applications for a Part-time Library Clerk working 29 hours per week. Position will assist in all functional duties necessary for Library operations, to include but not limited to: Provide summer program support; sort incoming library materials according to classification; re-shelve items to designated area. Assist public in operating copy machines and OPACs. Provide general library services at circulation desk; register patrons for Internet/Computer use; charge and discharge books and other materials using computer system. Ensure previously shelved selections are in correct order. Aide public in finding information within the library. Preferred bilingual (Spanish/English). Mechanic: Saluda County is accepting applications for Mechanic. Duties include but are not limited to: Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment; Diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions; makes repairs; Maintains vehicle and equipment records to track maintenance intervals and history; Schedules equipment maintenance and repair; Makes welding repairs and fabricates parts; Maintains inventory of parts and supplies; reorders as needed; Copies, codes, and files invoices; Operates various types of shop equipment, machinery, precision instruments, and specialized tools; Makes roadside repairs as needed; Operates equipment in support of department operations as needed. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a Class A Commercial Drivers License; possession of a health card. Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Equipment Operator: Saluda County is now accepting applications for Equipment Operator.  Duties include but are not limited to:  operates a variety of equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes; track hoes, front end loader, maintains assigned vehicles and equipment; performs pre and post-op vehicle inspections; transports materials and equipment to and from work sites; flags traffic and installs control devices at work sites; maintains and repairs drainage systems; maintains dirt and gravel roads; removes debris; responds to after-hour emergencies and other related duties. Library Director: Saluda County is accepting applications for Library Director.  Duties include but are not limited to:  Directs the operations of the county library system; Develops and implements library policies and procedures; Directs, monitors, evaluates, and administers all the library's programmatic, fiscal, and personnel functions; Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; Coordinates and collaborates with other local agencies and organizations; Administers grant funds; prepares and presents budget requests; manages budgeted funds; Administers personnel policies and supervises library staff; completes performance evaluations; Provides training to library personnel in the use of printed reference materials and electronic resources; Coordinates long-term library planning for the development of library services; Directs public relations campaigns to promote the library within the community; Assists in the planning of new construction or alteration to existing facilities; Coordinates the development of library collections; Prepares and submits a variety of regular and special reports; Participates in professional organizations and meetings; Knowledge of library science and administration; Knowledge of library technology. Paramedic - Saluda County is accepting applications for a Paramedic Crew Chief position with Saluda County EMS. Duties include but are not limited to responding to emergency calls and providing medical assistance to the sick and injured.  Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred experience in 911 emergency medical service. E-911 Emergency Dispatcher - Saluda County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for an E-911 Emergency Dispatcher. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Must pass a drug screening and background check. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts. Successful candidates will possess good communication and typing skills. If selected, candidates will be required to complete a two-week training course at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, as well as attain a 40 hour NCIC certification. Part-time Recycle Site Attendant: Saluda County is accepting applications for a Part-time Convenience Center Site Attendant.  The position includes working under regular supervision, monitors and screens all waste and recyclable materials delivered by residents to County Convenience Centers, ensures the public places materials in proper containers and monitors container volume, and maintains site appearance and safety. Performs related work as required. Reports to Solid Waste Coordinator.  Previous work-related skills, training, and experience will be taken into consideration for all applicants. Detention Officer - The Saluda County Detention Center is now accepting applications for a Class 2 Detention Officer position.  Qualifications include a clear criminal background and/or driver's history and High School Diploma or GED.  Applicant must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.  Applications and a complete job description can be picked up at the Saluda County Detention Center at 205 E.
