Am I registered to vote?

You may check online at scvotes.gov to see if you are registered. If you have filled out and turned in all required documentation, you should be registered. You may also call the Voter Registration Office.

If you have not registered, you may do so by one of the 3 following options:

• Register Online
  • Requires S.C. Driver's License or DMV ID
  • If you have moved, you must first update your residence address with DMV
• Register by mail, email, fax
  • Download a voter registration form, complete it, and return it to the Saluda County Board of Voter Registration and Elections.
• Register in person
  • Visit Saluda County Board of Voter Registration and Elections and register in person. You can also register while receiving services at various agencies including the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • See a complete list of agencies providing voter registration under the National Voter Registration Act.
     

Where do I vote?

To find your polling location, visit scvotes.gov or call the Saluda County Board of Voter Registration and Elections Office.
 

What if my address or name has changed?

You must update any new information to the office. You may do so by:

• Requesting to change your voter registration info when you update your driver’s license.
• Visit Saluda County Voter Registration Office and complete a change of address form.
• Fill out back of your voter registration card and mail to our office.

 

Who is on the ballot?

You may visit scvotes.gov to see candidates who are running for a specific office or see a copy of your ballot.

 

How long before an election must I be registered to vote in the election?

South Carolina State Law requires that you be registered 30 days prior to an election to be eligible to vote in that election (7-5-150)

Absentee and Early Voting

• Absentee is offered to voters who will not be able to come to an early voting center prior to an election or make it to their polling location on Election Day. A reason must be provided as to why absentee voting is necessary. In person absentee voting is not allowed. You may apply for an absentee ballot by calling the office or stopping by to request one.

• Early voting is offered to all registered voters. You may vote 2 weeks prior to an election at the appointed Early Voting Center, which is located at 4390 Batesburg Hwy, Saluda, SC 29138. Hours depend on the type of election. For primaries, hours are 8:30am-5:00pm and for a general election, hours are 8:30am-6pm.

Clerks and Poll Managers

Saluda County currently has 13 precincts. Precincts are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day. Each election requires at least one Clerk and multiple Poll Managers at every precinct. These workers are essential for running secure, efficient elections. Every election worker must complete training to learn how to fulfill the various duties required to manage the precincts.

• Clerk: $195
• Poll Manager: $135
• Student (must be 16 or 17 years old) $135
