Election/Registration Director: Saluda County is accepting applications for Saluda County Election/Registration Director. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: under limited supervision is responsible for monitoring and controlling various activities in the Registration and Election department including activities directly related to election of local, state and national leaders; is responsible for directing and executing procedures in the system of Voter Registration; has extensive knowledge of the various codes and ordinances that relate to the activities of the department, and is able to ensure implementation and enforcement of such and provides clerical assistance for the Medically Indigent Assistance Program. High school graduate with one to two years of experience in secretarial and clerical skills, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Working with the general public and a thorough knowledge of the general Saluda County area is recommended. A detailed job description is available at the County Council Office. Probate Court Clerk: Saluda County is accepting applications for Probate Court Clerk. Duties include but are not limited to providing assistance in Probate Court functions and in directing and managing operations and activities such as providing assistance to Judge and families in the administration of estates, guardianships and conservators; scheduling hearings; serving as Court Reporter; preparing reports and records; maintaining files; and performing other general clerical duties. High school diploma with concentration in business courses and one year of experience in the legal processes of courts, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Equipment Operator: Saluda County is accepting applications for Equipment Operator. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Under general supervision, operates and utilizes a variety of equipment and machinery used to perform skilled and general labor tasks and other duties in the maintenance and construction of roads and bridges. Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs as needed. High school graduate or equivalent with one to two years of experience in operating and utilizing heavy and light equipment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid S.C. Class A Commercial Drivers License and a current health card. Current 10 year driving record must be submitted with application and resume. Part-time Public Building Custodian - Saluda County is accepting applications for part time Public Building Custodian. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Under general supervision, performs custodial duties for the County in order to ensure the cleanliness of assigned buildings and facilities. Assigned buildings and facilities include but are not limited to: American Legion Building, County Annex Building, Courthouse, Library, Multi-Complex, Recreation Department Buildings, Registration/Election Building, Sheriff Department and Vehicle Maintenance Shop. Reports to Public Buildings Supervisor/designee. High school diploma and one month of experience in custodial/janitorial work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience are required. Must possess a valid S.C. driver's license. Current 10 year driving record must be submitted with application and resume. Part-time Recycle Site Attendant: Saluda County is accepting applications for a Part-time Convenience Center Site Attendant.  Position includes working under regular supervision, monitors and screens all waste and recyclable materials delivered by residents to County Convenience Centers, ensures the public places materials in proper containers and monitors container volume, and maintains site appearance and safety. Performs related work as required. Reports to Solid Waste Coordinator.  Previous work related skills, training, and experience will be taken into consideration for all applicants. Detention Officer - The Saluda County Detention Center is now accepting applications for a Class 2 Detention Officer position.  Qualifications include a clear criminal background and/or driver's history and High School Diploma or GED.  Applicant must be 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license.  Applications for this position can be picked up at the Saluda County Detention Center at 205 E. Church Street, Saluda, SC 29138. EOE
