Emergency Medical Services Director: Saluda County is accepting applications for an Emergency Medical Services Director. Duties include but are not limited to: Oversee and assist with the design and initial implementation of an emergency medical service for Saluda County, along with and including the medical abilities of the system to provide the necessary required ambulance needs for Saluda County citizens. Responds to emergency medical calls promptly, providing quality medical treatment and transportation to an appropriate medical facility.  Performs such skills as obtaining patient’s medical history, assessing physical condition and chief complaint, and making decisions regarding proper courses of action.  Performs such duties as CPR, splint application, wound treatment, bleeding control, monitoring vital signs, oxygen therapy, sterile suctioning, intubation, and IV fluid therapy.  Requires High school graduate or equivalent; National Registered paramedic; certified by the State of South Carolina as an EMT-P; five years experience in related field. Must possess a valid SC driver’s license. A complete job description is available at the Saluda County Council office.
